DFL Feminist Caucus

As a community outreach organization of the the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party , the purpose of the DFL Feminist Caucus is to support, advocate and promote the health, safety, human rights, and improved socioeconomic and political conditions of all people in their home life, work life and communities through the elimination of sexism in accordance with the Principles of the Caucus.

Our principles:

• We support the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution

• We support the Federal Equal Rights Amendment and implementing legislation

• We support Human Rights legislation and strict enforcement of anti-discrimination laws

• We support a women’s right to reproductive freedom that includes comprehensive sex education, accessible and affordable contraception and abortion services

• We support comprehensive childcare services – this includes accessible and affordable care for all parents as well as an appropriate wage paid to the caregivers.

• We support economic justice for everyone.

• We support equitable distribution of public resources.

• We support sustainable environmental practices and the elimination of disparate exposure to environmental health hazards by women, people of color, and those experiencing low socioeconomic status.

• We support reforms that make political parties more democratic.

• We support feminists for elective and appointive offices at all levels of government.

• We support initiatives to prevent violence first, comprehensive services for survivors and victims of domestic and sexual assault, and accountability for offenders.

• We support actively only those candidates who support these principles.
